Deacon Ministry Chairman: Ray Tankersley
The name deacon comes from a Greek word meaning servant. The deacon’s main focus is serving the church and meeting the needs of its members. Many of the services deacons perform go unnoticed either because it is a “behind the scenes” action or it involves ministering to individuals. They visit members in the hospital and nursing homes. Many serve as Sunday School teachers, on committees and teams, work with children or youth and show up on work days.
The role of your deacon is to be available to visit families, minister during trials, pray for needs and answer questions about the church. Each active family is assigned a deacon. We may have missed a family, so if you did not receive a post card, please contact the church office, so a deacon can be assigned.
