We believe sharing Christ’s love with those around us includes ministering to their emotional, spiritual, and physical needs.  We also believe that ministry efforts are best run by those who have a heart and a passion for that specific task.  The role of the Ministry Team is to help those people start and sustain ministry programs by helping with planning, coordination, recruitment, and funding, among other things. 

Membership on the Ministry Team is open to anyone who attends First Baptist Church, and we encourage everyone with an interest to attend our meetings.   Meetings and ministry events will be noted on the church calendar and included in bulletins and news letters.

Some of the on-going ministry efforts in our church are described below.  We invite you to join us in any of our events or team meetings and help us server the Bristow area.

Angel Tree – Buying, wrapping, and delivering Christmas gifts to children whose parents are incarcerated.  Coordinator Lee Ann Parker.

Christmas Food Baskets – Collecting donations, assembling and delivering food baskets to local families in need.  Coordinator Marsha Brown.

Meals on Wheels – Volunteer drivers deliver meals to local senior citizens on a rotating schedule.

Social Services – In addition to monthly financial support, we regularly collect specific non-perishable items needed for the local food bank.  The list of currently needed items is noted in the Narrator. 

Relay for Life – A community wide event, this is a night of fun, food and fellowship in support of the American Cancer Society.

Teachers Luncheon – A lunch break with door prizes for Bristow Public Schools during their ‘back to school’ meetings.

Benevolence fund – Emergency financial aid to those who find themselves in need of help with unexpected situations.

A Cold Drink – Handing out free bottled water during summer time events such as the annual car show and Tabouleh festival.

Life Safety – Handing out new smoke detector batteries during the fall “change your clock, change your batteries” campaign.
